  • Chord tones (Phil Mann): major triads in all inversions around the cycle of 4ths while saying out loud the note names (50bpm—74bpm)
  • Walking bass lines (Scott): static chord vocabulary + recap ii – V — I minor & major patterns over Autumn Leaves in G-
  • Short soloing over Autumn Leaves also in G-

  • Major triads in all inversions around the cycle of 4ths, with click at 50bpm (Phil Mann’s Chord Tones course)
  • Major & minor ii — V — I lines over Autumn Leaves in G-, all patterns used
  • Soloing in G- over Autumn Leaves using chromatics — watch the tendencies of getting back to minor pentatonic box and prevent this from happening!

Piano day (1h 30m)

  • Polychordal blues voicings (that sounds fancy doesn’t it!) from Dan Haerle book (Skill 61a, analysis + playing out of time)
  • Dorian scales round the circle of 5ths starting on D — start on C and run through cycle of 4ths next time
  • A couple of Hanon exercises at 70bpm just for the hell of it — play diminished arpeggios for technique next time
